This example shows how competencies are used within an introductory lecture for a specialist 10-day course on Current Issues in HIV Nursing in Brighton.

Competency Level: 
The lecture is aimed at competency levels 2 and 3 as the course incorporates both nurses working in HIV and non-HIV settings

Healthcare Setting:
Mostly aimed at nurses working in HIV settings but can be applied at competency level 2 for nurses working in other settings such as the community, practice nursing and general medical wards that provide care for HIV patients.

The preparation and production of the competencies has been funded through a grant from the Department of Health.
